| Here are the afore-mentioned Monahan's Sand Hills. These are really sand, unlike White Sands where we went last year which is really gypsum. This sand is very uniform and round, and can make a "booming" sound when the wind is just right as the grains of sand roll over each other. The sledding here is good, but it seemd like we had an easier time finding steep dunes at White Sands. Next |
